My Joy comes from .... serving you

Joy is a deep, lasting feeling of happiness and contentment. I believe we often feel joy from meaningful experiences, connections or fulfillment. Hi, my name is Denise Tallcott, and I’m a joyful person. I connect joy to my sense of purpose- providing exceptional experiences for the people I get to live life with. So, all of you bring me joy. Thank you for being here. 

I believe what brings a person joy changes over the years and seasons in which you live. Seasons, to me, are not weather-related but rather, different markers in your life. Career achievements, relationship changes, parenting moments, death, etc. All moments in life that in reflection, are seasons.  

I began a career STARadio in 2009 as an intern. Upon graduating college in 2012, I returned and had the opportunity to co-host "Beau & Denise in the Mornings." It was so fun, and I loved being in the spotlight. I loved getting to talk about whatever topics we wanted, and people knowing who I was out in the community. A tad selfish, right? Yes, and it brought be joy. I thought I'd never leave.  

Fast forward to 2021, and I learned my joy no longer came from being in the limelight. My joy came from empowering other people through words. My intent changed. I wanted people to learn they have the power to be the best version of themselves inside of them. I know find my life's purpose and joy through business coaching individuals, teaching how to erase the fear in public speaking and group masterminds. Empowering others to feel their worth and impact now brings me joy.  

 What brings you joy? Ask yourself that question. And really identify what that is. Is it different than what you're doing as a career? Are you in a career or are you in your calling? What brings you joy changes. Mine did, and that's ok!
