What's meant for you won't miss you

Jul 24, 2025

Are you the type who often says “yes” to events, meetings, or people while secretly wishing you hadn’t?

Me too. Me too.

Sometimes I wonder if it comes from fear. Fear of missing out. Fear of disappointing someone. Fear of not being asked again.

But what if saying “yes” to something we don’t really want is actually rooted in a scarcity mindset? What if saying “no” could open the doors we’ve always been hoping for? Maybe it's a new career opportunity, more peace at home, or a deeper sense of purpose. It’s really a shift in mindset, isn’t it? But how do we get there?

For a long time, I didn’t have a clear answer. Without one, I found myself measuring success by someone else’s standards and often feeling like I was falling short. I still struggle with this sometimes, but it's better than it used to be.

The turning point came when I decided what was enough for our family financially. That decision changed so much. I started making more confident choices in my business, protecting time with my family, and actually feeling proud of our success.

When we define what is “enough” for this season- whether that’s a number in your bank account, a work-life boundary, or a limit on extracurricular activities, you stop chasing. You gain clarity. You finally have a way to measure success that fits your life.

And you can start to trust the thought that my amazing friend Kristen Rogers once shared with me: "What’s meant for you won’t miss you."

Love,
Denise
